Post-Move Piano Tuning Referrals

After any move — whether across town or across the country — your piano will need time to acclimate to the temperature and humidity of its new environment before being tuned. We recommend waiting a minimum of two weeks, and ideally four weeks, before scheduling your first post-move tuning. This acclimation period allows the soundboard, strings, and wooden components to stabilize in their new conditions, which leads to a more accurate and longer-lasting tuning. We maintain a curated network of qualified, experienced piano tuners across our entire service area and are happy to connect you with the right professional for your instrument and location.

Our Network of Piano Specialists

Over three decades in the piano industry, we've built trusted relationships with some of the region's finest piano tuners, registered piano technicians (RPTs), refinishers, rebuilders, and dealers. These aren't random referrals pulled from a directory — they're professionals whose work we've seen firsthand and whose quality we stand behind. Whether you need a straightforward tuning, a pitch raise on a neglected instrument, regulation and voicing work, or a full restoration referral, we can point you in the right direction with confidence. Our network spans Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and beyond.

How Often Should a Piano Be Tuned?

Most piano manufacturers recommend tuning at least twice per year — once after the heating season begins in fall and once after it ends in spring — because seasonal humidity changes cause the soundboard to expand and contract, pulling the strings sharp or flat. Pianos in high-use environments like studios, schools, and performance venues may need tuning monthly or even before each performance. New pianos and recently restrung instruments should be tuned three to four times in their first year as the new strings stretch and settle. Regular tuning doesn't just keep your piano sounding good — it prevents cumulative pitch drift that makes future tunings more difficult and expensive.

Piano Dealer & Showroom Partnerships

If you're in the market for a new or pre-owned piano, we work with reputable dealers and showrooms throughout the East Coast. We can recommend retail locations based on your budget, brand preferences, and geographic location. Whether you're looking for a student upright, a living room baby grand, or a performance-grade concert instrument, our dealer network covers the full spectrum. And of course, once you've found the perfect piano, we'll handle the delivery — moving it from the showroom floor to your home with the same care and precision we bring to every job.

Complete Piano Maintenance & Repair

Whether you need to store your piano for a week during a home renovation, a few months during a cross-country relocation, or a year or more while you're living overseas, our flexible storage terms accommodate any timeline. There are no long-term contracts, no minimum commitments, and no penalties for early pickup. Your piano can be retrieved or delivered with as little as one week's notice. Billing is monthly, transparent, and predictable — the rate you're quoted is the rate you pay, with no hidden fees for handling, insurance, or environmental surcharges.
